Crumbles derive from Britain, and can be made with sweet or savoury ingredients, although the sweet version is most common.
There is nothing I love better then a nice warm crumble covered in custard, (however I am yet to find a custard recipe that is Paleo Friendly!) so this dessert is one that was a must! I have many childhood memories that involve crumbles so to find a way to still keep this in my diet was a dream come true.
The following recipe serves 4:
4 peaches (peeled if desired, i personally didnt)
1/4 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup chopped almonds
4 Tb honey (though if the coconut taste is overpowering add more – I added an extra 2 Tb)
4 Tb melted coconut oil
Slice the peaches and play in the dish, I used a 18×25.5x5cm dish.
In a bowl, mix the shredded coconut, nuts and the honey. Once happy with the taste and consistency, pour onto the peaches evenly.
Sprinkle the melted coconut oil over the top and bake for 30 minutes at 180 Degrees.
Please note I found this recipe here and plan to return for more wonderfully easy recipes to try!!!
